Here are a collection of my favourite resort 2018 shows. Thanks for reading, Emma x. All photos are taken from vogue runway.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve been counting down the days until the first Monday in May comes around. This very special Monday means that the Met Gala is here! A celebration where fashion and art meet, and stunning exhibitions are shown off in the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Every year a new exhibition graces the museum and the opening night, or the Met Gala’s theme reflects the theme of the exhibit. This years theme is; Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons. Rei Kawakubo is the head and founder of the brand Comme des Garçons, this theme was bound to bring a slew of avant-garde pieces to the gala, but surprisingly many attendees did not dress to theme (in my opinion).
Many guests, who are mostly celebs, just dressed as one would to an average red carpet and seemed to have done very little, if any research into the theme. Many celebs wore basic, ‘cute’ dresses fresh of the runway, and although most were gorgeous, they did not fit the theme. Here are some of my favourite looks of the night, that in my opinion fit the theme. I’ve also included a list of ‘honourable mentions’ who looked stunning but not on theme. All photos were taken from Vogue Runway, thank you all for reading, Emma x.
Cochella has come around again, a time of the year that is filled with fringe, lace and sequins. Every year the attendees of the ever so popular festival show up dressed to the nines to dance around in the desert. Although I personally am not attending Cochella, I will be attending Groovin the Moo, a slightly less insane and exclusive festival here in Australia. I’ve been racking my brain trying to come up with an outfit that looks effortless yet uber chic whilst also being practical and comfortable. I know, never going to happen. So I’ve put together a couple outfits, that in a dream world I would wear to attend any festival. All outfits were created using Polyvore. Thanks so much for reading, Emma x.

As I’m sure you all know by now, I love Victoria Beckham. When I found out late last year that VB would be creating a collection with Target I was over the moon. My favourite person and designer creating a collection that I could afford, what more could a girl want!
The collection ranges from $6 – $70 (usd) and features all pieces in plus size. The collection also includes girls and babies clothes. It will be available on April 9th. It will be available through Target stores and online and some pieces are available from Victoria Beckham.com. Even though I don’t believe the collection will be available in store or online in Australia I’m crossing my fingers that I can get my hands on a few pieces.
Here are a couple of my favourite pieces from the stunning collection. Thanks for reading, Emma x.

To me, skin care means everything, I may even love it more than makeup. For a long time, I had horrible skin, I’m taking red, blotchy, cystic acne, it wasn’t cute. I’d insert a picture but I don’t have any as I’ve destroyed all evidence of that period of my life. But from that experience I became obsessed with skin care. I was always making home made scrubs or face masks, and I actually wanted to be a Dermatologist for a while, until I learnt that you had to study for about ten years and I was out.
Of course my acne could only be cured by medication, so off to the doctor/dermatologist I went and was prescribed medicine (I can’t really remember the name, sorry) that I took every day for about six months. In that period I learnt to love natural skin care, because whilst on the medication your skin becomes very sensitive, and even after I came of the medication, for about 2-2 and a half years I still had very sensitive skin. I came off the medication in December 2013, and now after almost 4 years, my skin has become less sensitive and I’ve begun to experiment with more products.
For a long time when I was younger, I used the ‘Biore – Deep pore charcoal cleanser’, which is great is you’re on a budget. My current skin care routine has multiple different steps but is working really well for me.
Makeup Removers –
I wear makeup everyday and I hate using makeup wipes or even micellar water to take off my makeup. I really enjoy using the ‘bareMinerals – Oil obsessed – total cleansing oil’. It removes all your makeup, even the stubborn eyes and smells great. It can also be used as a cleanser, so if you’re feeling lazy at night, this is a great two in one. I also use the ‘Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water’ to get off any left over eye makeup.
I’ve used a lot of cleansers over the years. Some of my favourites include, the Biore cleanser, mentioned earlier and the bareMinerals ‘clay chameleon – transforming purifying cleanser’, but my current cleansers are probably my favourite. Currently at night I’m using the ‘Ren – hot cloth cleanser’, which smells beautiful and leaves your skin feeling soft and luxurious. In the morning I’m using the ‘Origins – GinZing scrub cleanser’, which smells super fresh and brightens and wakes up your skin.
I always use an organic coconut oil on my skin, as a substitute for a serum. It brightens and softens your skin and I think even clears my skin a bit. I once stopped using coconut oil for a while and couldn’t work out why my skin was looking so dull and crappy, and then it clicked! I’ve been using the same moisturiser since 2013, and I’ve never strayed from it. I use the ‘Dermal Therapy – dry skin lotion’, and it is life saving. For an eye cream I’m currently using the ‘Origins – ginzing eye cream’ which is great for brightening but not super hydrating. I’m currently wanting to get my hands on the ‘Kiehl’s – creamy eye treatment’.
For blemish control I use the ‘Mario Badescu – drying lotion’, which is an absolute god sent! It clears my blemishes overnight, unless they’re huge and horrible. My all time favourite, holy grail product is the ‘Mario Badescu – facial spray with Aloe, herbs and rosewater’, it makes your skin look super glowy and stunning, and every time you spray it you feel fresh and smell great. I use a couple of masks regularly but my favourite is the ‘Lush – cup o’coffee’ mask, which brightens and exfoliates the skin really well. I also really like the ‘Origins – retexturing mask with rose clay’, which is a great all – rounder mask. If you have really sensitive skin you might want to give this one a miss, as it stings my skin a bit, so if you’re really sensitive it might sting pretty bad.
My current skin type is fairly normal but can get a little dry around the outside of my face. All these products have worked awesomely for me and I would recommend them to everyone. Thank you for reading longest post to date, and I will link all the products I can down below. – Emma x.

NYFW is one of the chicest weeks of the year, and this years did not disappoint with the showing of the fall ready to wear collections. My favourite show was Calvin Klein, it was Raf Simmons first show as the head of the brand and received rave reviews. My favourite looks were the tops and dresses with the chest cut outs. Although not completely functional for every day wear, they are awfully chic and different. My usual favourite, Victoria Beckham kind of let me down this year – as when I looked through her show all I saw was bland suits and dresses that weren’t to my taste. The Yeezy show was probably one of the biggest surprises for me, as the collection wasn’t filled with just earthy- toned body suits and ripped knit ware, but actual clothes! Another favourite of mine was Zac Posen. Posen always shows a beautiful collection and this seasons was no different. Here are my favourite looks from the shows mentioned above (all photos taken from Vogue Runway app).

I truely feel in love with couture after watching ‘Dior and I’ for the first time. The movie follows Raf Simmons creating his first couture collection for Dior. I was mesmerised by the detail and beauty of the pieces and the insane amount of work that went into every piece in the collection. Every year since watching it, I eagerly await the collections, not only from Dior but every house that creates couture, and every year I am astounded by the craftsmanship and beauty of every collection. This year is no different, my favourite shows this year include; Ralph and Russo, Chanel, Christian Dior, Elie Saab and Victor and Rolf.
Ralph and Russo: When I first came across Ralph and Russo I was blown away by how beautiful every collection they produce is, and still to this day every collection is stunning! Here are a few of my favourite pieces from the show.
Chanel: For a long time I’ve found Chanel very underwhelming, which is not a word usually put next to Chanel. But every collection I saw was either too much or not enough and could never quite hook me. This years collection had me hook, line and sinker. The collection can be described simply, as beautiful and elegant. By mixing classic silhouettes with modern details Chanel had created a stunning collection.
Christian Dior: As mentioned earlier, Dior is my absolute favourite brand, and always shows a stunning collection. This show was new creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri’s debut couture collection. Although the collection isn’t my favourite Dior show, I still love the whimsical, forest feel.
Elie Saab: Elie Saab has always been a favourite of mine, every fashion week they create a stunning collection, covered in beads and beautiful detail. This collection of course being no different, was a parade stunning pieces.
Viktor & Rolf: For this years collection, Victor & Rolf used old pieces to create their new looks. An amazing idea that I think is extremely creative, and a great way to represent the past while looking to the future simultaneously.
And that’s a wrap! Thank you all for reading – Emma xx
The awards season has come again! Every year I look forward to watching stars strut down the red carpet in the most stunning gowns, and this year is no different. My stand out, number 1 best dressed this year is definitely, Emma Stone. Although Emma Stone is my number 1, here are 10 of my favourite looks of the night.
